Patient letters

We've extended the ways it's possible to communicate with patients via a more formal patient letter function.

Allow me to re-introduce myself…

Patient letters

Patient letters in the app

We heard loud and clear that you were looking for a more formal way to communicate with patients. It’s also common that you’re moving from a system where the standard way of communicating fits better with a document format, and that moving over to wawa is tough without these.

Highlights

  • Patient profiles now have a Letters tab that allows you to draft a Letter
  • Letters are sent directly to the patients device, where they’re shown responsively. Not just a PDF attachment, but more like a real piece of text designed to be read on their device.
  • By configuring a GP on the patient information page, you can also unlock the ability to send a Letter to a GP.

Templates

Letter templates got a big ugrade in the form of Variables. We’re using the Liquid templating language, and you can use that to it’s full extent to build incredible templates.

  • Manage templates under Settings → Letter/note templates
  • You can use the full Liquid templating language for variables. Try {{ patient.firstname | capitalize }} to turn “jennifer” into “Jennifer”!
  • We’ve included plenty of variables to get started. Missing something? Let us know on Intercom
